Postal 2: Share the Pain is a unique blend of open-world gaming, grotesque humor, and over-the-top violence that plays out unlike any other first-person shoot available today.

When first playing this game, or even taking a look at the storyline, many gaming enthusiasts will have quite a few questions about Postal 2: Share the Pain and what the developers intended with this game. The original title was released in 1997 to a variety of mixed reviews with some fans claiming it was one of the top games ever while others considered it nothing more than a title that was designed to push the borders of offensive. While the humor is exceptionally crude and the game quickly devolves into violence, those that enjoy that style of comedy and are looking for a one-of-a-kind twist in their next first-person shooter may find exactly what they want in Postal 2: Share the Pain.

Unlike many of the other games in this genre that tend to follow a linear and relatively strict storyline, this updated rerelease of Postal 2 once again follows the open-world doctrine that has made games like Grand Theft Auto so popular. Playing as a character that is actually named The Postal Dude, the storyline follows seemingly mundane tasks of missions such as collecting a check from work and purchasing milk at the start of the week. When moving through the town, however, players will quickly find themselves sliding into a world of outrageous violence and adult-themed humor in the fictional city of Paradise.

Players can collect a variety of weapons, both mundane and bizarre, in order to carry out some of the seedier missions or simply wreak havoc throughout the town. Many of the favorite weapons of Postal 2, such as the napalm launcher and diseased cow head, are back as well as the option for slow motion power-ups which add to some of the excitement in the action scenes. The missions range from simple daily chores such as collecting groceries to getting citizens to sign odd petitions for the mayor.

For those looking for multiplayer action, there are four primary multiplayer game types and over a dozen unique maps that can be played through the in-game server. These games include all of the first-person shooter standbys such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. There are also some relatively risqué variations on these games involving scantily-clad civilians and seedier parts of the town. Overall, those that enjoy a darker sense of humor and are looking to break away from more popular titles may find a good amount of enjoyment in both the campaign and multiplayer options for Postal 2: Share the Pain.
